Russia to Develop First Islamic Banking Standard

Anatoly Aksakov, chair of the State Duma Committee on Financial Markets, said that Russia's first Islamic banking standard could be developed within a month. According to him, the lower chamber of the Russian parliament has identified the key directions for developing this segment of the financial sector.

The development of standards reflects Russia's growing interest in Islamic financial instruments and attracting capital from Muslim countries.
