Turkey: 23 suspects arrested in Eskişehir municipality corruption investigation

Turkish authorities arrested 23 people out of 60 suspects in a corruption investigation targeting Tepebasi municipality in Eskişehir province, according to Turkish media reports.

Thirty-three of the suspects were referred to investigators with orders for pretrial detention. Thirty-three of them work at the same municipality. The detainees underwent routine health screenings.

The operation points to wide-ranging investigations into administrative corruption files in Turkish local authorities.
