Yellow alert in 21 provinces over holiday weekend: Meteorology warns of heavy rainfall

Turkey's Meteorology General Directorate has issued a yellow-alert-level heavy rainfall warning for 21 provinces during the upcoming holiday period. According to Sözcü, the warning directly covers the holiday days when millions of citizens will be travelling and outdoor events will be at their peak.

A yellow alert is a warning level indicating that short-term severe rainfall, hail, and storms may pose a risk to life and property, and that the public should exercise caution. The complete list of affected provinces is being updated and published through the Directorate's official bulletins.

In addition, Istanbul is expected to remain overcast and rainy, with fog observed around the Istanbul Strait during the morning hours. Experts are advising citizens travelling over the holiday to monitor the latest meteorological warnings before setting out and to reassess their travel plans in line with conditions.
