CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters' Facebook Account Seized

The official Facebook account of CHP's Istanbul Provincial Headquarters has been seized. According to Cumhuriyet, the move is part of the Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu administration's broader effort to take over provincial party branches' social media accounts following a court ruling of absolute nullity.

In what is being described as a deep crisis within the party, a number of other provincial headquarters had already seen their digital accounts change hands in similar fashion. The Istanbul account carries particular political weight: it belongs to CHP's largest provincial organization by membership.

The intra-party conflict has taken on a new dimension, playing out through court rulings, governance disputes, and battles over social media control. The tension between the Özgür Özel-era leadership and Kılıçdaroğlu loyalists is effectively paralyzing the party's institutional operations.
