COP31 preparations turn farmland into parking lots

As part of preparations for the 2026 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP31) that Turkey will host in Antalya, farmland at the EXPO fair grounds and the Western Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute is being allocated to infrastructure projects. The areas in question are being converted into parking lots and other facilities. Local residents and farmers are concerned about productive agricultural land being diverted from its original purpose.
