The Communications Directorate's Center for Combating Disinformation (DMM) has warned citizens against fake sacrifice animal listings that have accelerated on social media platforms as Eid al-Adha approaches.
According to the DMM's statement, accounts posting sacrifice animal listings at prices significantly below market value represent a high risk of fraud. Beyond these listings, the center called for caution regarding individuals and accounts requesting payment through unverified IBAN information and those applying pressure for urgent payment.
The DMM advised citizens to purchase sacrifice animals only through reliable and verified sellers. Noting that fake listings and fraud attempts increase noticeably during holiday periods, the center urged that the seller's identity and listing information be verified before any payment is made.
This warning issued ahead of Eid al-Adha directly concerns a wide segment of the population.
