Ukraine Reports Russian Commander Ordered Troops to Decapitate Dead Soldiers

Ukraine's General Staff has released an intercepted Russian military communication allegedly capturing a commander ordering troops to decapitate two fallen Ukrainian soldiers. Ukrainian officials characterised the reported orders as evidence of war crimes.

The intercept, if verified, would document explicit instructions for mutilation of corpses in violation of international humanitarian law. Ukraine has previously documented similar allegations. The disclosure adds to documented claims of Russian violations during the ongoing conflict.
