CHP's 'null-and-void' Central Executive Board convenes under Kılıçdaroğlu; expulsions and provincial appointments on agenda

CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu today convened the party's Central Executive Board (MYK) — declared 'null and void' by court order — at party headquarters. The most contentious items on the agenda are expulsions and appointments to provincial organizations.

The meeting will also address domestic politics, regional developments, foreign policy, the economy, and the Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Cohesion, recently passed by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM).

Müslim Sarı, spokesperson for the invalidated administration, will make a statement on the MYK agenda at 17:00. As the board continues to operate under a cloud of legal illegitimacy following the court's ruling, the decisions it takes — particularly on provincial appointments and expulsions — are expected to deepen the already bitter divisions within the party base. Kılıçdaroğlu's leadership has proceeded under the shadow of sustained internal legal challenges since the 2023 party congress.
