Drone attack on Russia's Leningrad Region downs 17 UAVs, injures one

Air defence forces shot down all 17 unmanned aerial vehicles that targeted Russia's Leningrad Region in a drone attack, regional Governor Alexander Drozdenko said, according to state news agency TASS.

One person sustained injuries during the incident. Drozdenko confirmed that damage had been recorded at a warehouse area in Krasny Bor, a settlement located in the Tosnensky District south of St Petersburg. The governor disclosed the information via his channel on the Maks social media platform, adding that the full extent of the damage was still being assessed and that details remained under clarification.

Leningrad Region, which surrounds the major city of St Petersburg without encompassing it, has faced periodic drone incursions as part of the broader pattern of aerial attacks on Russian territory. Authorities did not immediately specify the origin or flight path of the unmanned aircraft involved in the latest incident. Further updates are expected as the situation is assessed.
