Ministry of National Education Revises Geographical and Historical Terms in Textbooks

The Ministry of National Education has updated geographical and historical concepts in textbooks within a 'national memory' framework. Under the changes, textbooks will use 'Turkestan' in place of Central Asia, 'Sea of Islands' in place of the Aegean Sea, and 'Crusader attacks' instead of the Crusades. The move signals the beginning of a new era in history and geography education in Turkey.
