AFAD: 4.5 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Nurdağı, Gaziantep; No Damage Reported

AFAD announced that a 4.5 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Nurdağı district of Gaziantep at 03:42 in the early morning hours. The tremor, with its epicenter in Nurdağı, occurred at a depth of 7.44 kilometers and was felt in neighboring provinces — Kilis, Kahramanmaraş, Osmaniye, and Hatay.

AFAD stated that field assessment operations were underway and that, as of now, there were no reports of loss of life or property damage. TRT Haber reported this information.

Nurdağı was one of the districts that suffered the heaviest destruction during the February 2023 earthquakes; AFAD had recorded thousands of aftershocks during that period. Since then, residents in the region have responded with heightened alarm to every tremor occurring during nighttime hours. Although no damage has been reported, AFAD field teams continue their assessment operations in the district.
