Seven-year-old Azra Nazlı Sarıoğlu dies after being hit by car in Ceyhan

In Ceyhan district, on 38th Street in Gaziosmanpaşa District, a vehicle driven by Emine Eylem Y. struck seven-year-old Azra Nazlı Sarıoğlu as she entered the road yesterday at 10:30 a.m. The child sustained severe injuries from the impact.

Following reports from bystanders, health and police teams were dispatched to the scene. Azra Nazlı was initially taken by ambulance to Ceyhan State Hospital, but due to the severity of her condition, she was transferred to Adana City Hospital where she could not be saved despite medical intervention.

According to DHA, the driver Emine Eylem Y., who was detained at the scene, is now under investigation by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. The discussion about pedestrian crossings and speed reduction measures in Ceyhan to prevent child deaths in traffic accidents had occupied the district's agenda last year following a similar accident.
