Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held separate phone conversations with Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and Pakistani mediators. According to Anadolu Agency, the calls addressed the regional peace process and mediation efforts.
Fidan's intensive phone diplomacy coincided with a period of critical developments regarding Iran-US nuclear negotiations and the ceasefire in Gaza. Qatar continues its pivotal mediator role in the Gaza ceasefire process while Pakistan is also working to contribute to regional stability.
Turkey is playing an active mediator and diplomatic bridge role in the region, engaging on multiple fronts. It was reported that Fidan also held a conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi on the same day.
