Erdoğan discusses bilateral relations and regional developments with Algerian President Tebboune

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone call with Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. According to Anadolu Agency, the conversation addressed Turkey-Algeria bilateral relations; regional and global developments also featured in their exchange.

Turkey and Algeria have been strengthening their relations in recent years not only through political dialogue but also in the fields of economy, energy, and defense industry. Increasing the trade volume between the two countries remains a key item on the bilateral agenda. Agreements signed within the scope of defense cooperation and partnership initiatives in the energy sector are playing a decisive role in deepening relations.

The timing of the conversation coincides with a period when Turkey has intensified its diplomatic contacts with North African countries. President Erdoğan's active diplomacy with leaders in the region is seen as a concrete reflection of Turkey's foreign policy priorities toward the African continent.
