Istanbul police prevent assassination plot

In Istanbul, a police officer completing his shift and returning home spotted two suspicious individuals on a motorcycle and thwarted a suspected assassination plot. Using his professional intuition and observational skills, the officer grew suspicious of the pair's behavior and reported the matter to authorities.

The two individuals found on a motorcycle stopped in Küçükçekmece were determined to be planning an armed assassination against a person in Beylikdüzü. Following searches and investigations, the suspects were found to have been acting with the intent to commit assassination. The police officer's timely intervention prevented a potential homicide.

The detainees were taken to police headquarters for questioning. Authorities sought statements from the suspects, against whom an investigation into the assassination attempt was launched. Security units are investigating whether ongoing threats remain against the targeted individual.

The incident once again demonstrated that a major tragedy was averted thanks to the vigilance and professional responsibility of an off-duty police officer.
