Norway will contribute €40 million — equivalent to $46 million — to strengthen Ukraine's energy infrastructure ahead of winter, the Kyiv Post reported on Tuesday.
The money will be channelled through the EU's Ukraine Investment Framework. According to the Kyiv Post, the funding is earmarked for decentralised power generation, renewable energy, and battery storage systems.
The announcement comes as Ukraine continues to face sustained pressure on its power grid. Norway's contribution adds to a broader package of European support under the EU framework designed to help Kyiv maintain electricity supply through the coming cold season.
No specific project locations inside Ukraine were named in the report.
