Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan will sign a tripartite defense agreement on Friday in Saudi Arabia. According to reporting by Times of Israel, the signing ceremony will take place in Riyadh.
Details of the agreement have not yet been shared with the public; however, it is known that Turkey has rapidly expanded defense exports and joint exercise agreements along both the Gulf and South Asian axes in recent years. Ankara has continued deliveries of Turkish unmanned aerial vehicles to Islamabad under the defense cooperation framework it signed with Pakistan in 2023.
The gathering of the three countries around the same table this time coincides with a period of escalating tensions between Iran and the United States and ongoing Houthi attacks on Gulf states from Yemen. The Turkish Ministry of Defense has not yet made an official statement.
