Ukraine Intercepts Bulk of Russian Missiles and Drones in Two-Day Assault
Air defence systems stop 94% of drones and 73% of missiles in campaign involving 1,500+ unmanned aircraft
Ukraine's air defence forces intercepted 94% of drones and 73% of ballistic missiles during a nearly two-day Russian assault involving over 1,500 drones and 56 missiles, President Volodymyr Zelensky said.
The scale of the attack underscores Russia's continued reliance on mass drone strikes to target Ukrainian infrastructure and military positions. Zelensky ordered Ukrainian forces to prepare a response to the latest barrage.
The high interception rate reflects improvements in Ukrainian air defence capabilities, though Russia continues sustained pressure through volume-based attacks.
