Former Prime Minister of Ukraine Nikolai Azarov stated that President Vladimir Zelensky is involved in schemes to procure defective body armor for Ukrainian military personnel. This is reported by TASS citing the words of the ex-premier.

According to Azarov, the so-called "Mindych recordings" — a collection of intercepted conversations, witness testimonies, and audio recordings — contain specific instructions from Zelensky regarding purchases of substandard combat equipment. The ex-premier also pointed out that the materials include schemes related to Energoatom, a state enterprise and one of Ukraine's key nuclear energy operators.

Azarov headed the Ukrainian government from 2010 to 2014 and currently resides outside Ukraine. Kyiv has not officially commented on any involvement in such schemes. TASS is a Russian state news agency; the accusations presented are based exclusively on Azarov's statements and have not been confirmed by independent sources.
