Coalition Intercepts Two Ballistic Missiles Over Khamis Mushait and Three Drones
Saudi air defense downed the missiles before reaching their targets, and civil defense issued early warnings in Riyadh, Abha, and Khamis Mushait.
The Arab Coalition led by Saudi Arabia intercepted two ballistic missiles fired by the Houthi group toward Khamis Mushait in southern Saudi Arabia, and simultaneously announced the downing of two drones over the Riyadh region and a third drone over the Eastern Region.
Coalition spokesman Major General Turki Al-Maliki announced these details early Sunday morning, confirming that all hostile targets were intercepted and destroyed before reaching their destinations.
The announcement followed the issuance of early warning alerts by Saudi civil defense in Riyadh, Abha, and Khamis Mushait, after which it announced the all-clear at a later time.
These interceptions came following a series of Saturday attacks, when the Coalition reported downing four additional drones over three regions in the kingdom — Riyadh, the Eastern Region, and the Southern Region — as well as destroying two ballistic missile launch platforms in Saada Governorate in Yemen.
The Coalition reported no casualties or infrastructure damage from either attack, and the statement contained no information about the defenses used in the interception.
