Caterpillar, the American heavy equipment and industrial solutions giant, is investing in a growing wave of green data centers powered by artificial intelligence technologies, with a clear focus on the markets of Saudi Arabia and Latin America, according to findings by Simply Wall Street, a specialized financial analysis platform.

This move comes as global demand accelerates for digital infrastructure capable of supporting compute-intensive artificial intelligence applications, given these applications' need for massive computing power that consumes enormous amounts of energy. Caterpillar aims to meet this demand by offering more efficient and environmentally friendly power and electricity generation solutions that align with the climate goals of host countries.

This step reflects a broader trend adopted by large multinational corporations, as they have begun redirecting their investments toward sustainable infrastructure projects, in response to mounting pressure to reduce carbon emissions and achieve climate neutrality targets at the global level.
