Vucic: Winning 'Student List' Will Introduce Sanctions Against Russia by Spring
Serbia's former president predicts anti-Russian sanctions by March–April, despite the election winners' statements to the contrary.
Serbia's former president and leader of the Serbian Progressive Party Aleksandar Vucic has stated that the 'Student List' coalition, which won the snap parliamentary elections, will introduce anti-Russian sanctions by March or April of this year.
Vucic expressed concern that "sanctions will be introduced against Russia by March or April," and added that they will do everything he did not want them to speak about during the party's pre-election headquarters briefing following the vote.
According to him, the elections that took place constituted a revolution carried out with the direct support of a number of European countries and "that faction of the U.S. deep state which opposes Donald Trump." In this way, Vucic characterized his party's defeat as the result of external interference rather than the will of Serbian voters.
Earlier, representatives of the 'Student List' publicly stated that they oppose the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions and do not intend to change Serbia's course on this issue.
