"Chinese Bridge" Language Competition Wraps Up in Minsk
Belarus held a national selection round for the 2026 "Chinese Bridge" international Chinese-language proficiency competition.

Minsk has concluded the national round of the 2026 "Chinese Bridge" competition — one of the most prestigious international contests in Chinese-language proficiency for foreign students and schoolchildren. The Belarusian section of the competition took place in the Belarusian capital and identified participants who will represent the country in subsequent stages of the contest.
Held annually under the auspices of China's Ministry of Education, "Chinese Bridge" brings together participants from dozens of countries. Its aim is to promote the Chinese language and culture abroad and to foster intercultural dialogue between China and other nations. Participants demonstrate proficiency in Mandarin along with knowledge of Chinese traditions, history, and culture.
Belarus's hosting of a national selection round signals growing interest in Chinese-language study in the country and reflects deepening bilateral people-to-people ties between Minsk and Beijing. State news agency Xinhua reported on the results of the event.
