Upon completion of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway, residents of the republic will gain the ability to travel directly to the PRC on passenger trains. This was reported by Ulan Kulov, deputy general director of the joint-stock company "Railway Company China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" on Birinchi Radio.

Kulov stated that passenger transport will be provided as this is both a freight and passenger railway. "After its commissioning, there will be the possibility of traveling directly from the KR to the PRC by train," he added.

For passenger service, the company plans to purchase modern rolling stock, drawing on technologies already in use on Chinese railways. Specific routes, schedules, and ticket prices have not yet been determined.

The design speed of trains will be up to 140 kilometers per hour. The length of the Kyrgyzstan section is 304 kilometers; it will include the construction of 29 tunnels and 50 bridges.

According to the approved schedule, the railway is planned to enter service in 2031. Builders expect to complete work ahead of schedule in 2030, provided no unforeseen technical complications arise.
