Kyrgyzstan has cancelled the moratorium on issuing Air Operator Certificates (AOC) to airlines, which was introduced in 2024. The State Civil Aviation Agency announced this decision.

According to the agency, during the moratorium period, the country conducted extensive work to bring its national aviation system into compliance with international standards. The result was Kyrgyzstan's removal from the European Union's aviation safety blacklist in June 2026 — a positive outcome of two years of reforms.

Lifting the restrictions creates conditions for establishing new airlines, as well as for expanding domestic and international routes, the agency noted.

Bektur Jumaliev, Deputy Director of the State Civil Aviation Agency, explained in an interview with the Kabar news agency that the cancellation of the moratorium represents an interconnected stage of reform and development of the country's civil aviation sector.
