Sybiga: 76 strikes on Ukraine's energy system in a week — Moscow evades commitments
Ukraine's foreign minister warned allies: sanctions relief will provide the Kremlin with fresh revenue ahead of winter.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiga stated that Russia has launched 76 strikes against the country's energy infrastructure in a single week, which he said proves Moscow has fulfilled none of its obligations since Donald Trump announced an "energy truce." The Ukrainian side insists on the systematic nature of the attacks; the Russian side has not stated its position on these accusations.
Sybiga, who posted about this on X on October 18, provided data showing approximately 2,700 drones, 1,700 guided aerial bombs, and 66 missiles deployed over the week. The minister characterized the Kremlin's actions as simulating diplomacy in order to achieve economic concessions.
He warned Western partners that lifting sanctions or easing economic pressure under current conditions merely injects fresh hard currency into Russia's military budget. Sybiga called on allies to intensify economic pressure on Moscow and increase supplies of air defense systems to Ukraine before winter begins.
