Four workers died and a fifth was injured with minor wounds after a localized tornado swept through a construction site in the Fozi Çakmak neighborhood of the Kepez district in Antalya, late Monday evening.

The tornado rushed toward two containers housing six construction workers, destroying them and ejecting those inside. Two workers died on the spot, and three others were initially reported dead at the hospital, bringing the total to five according to the governor's statement. However, it was later discovered that one of these three was revived and returned to life, bringing the death toll to four. Medical authorities noted that the condition of the injured person is considered stable. The Antalya provincial administration announced that field teams continued search operations to verify the presence of additional victims.

Antalya Governor Hüseyin Şahin inspected the accident site and explained to media that the tornado also caused the collapse of a tower crane at the same project, but without resulting injuries. Şahin said: "We are facing an extremely unusual natural phenomenon; no storm or tornado was reported at any other location in the city, and there is no damage to neighboring buildings — only this specific area was struck by a tornado that destroyed two containers to pieces."

Şahin pointed out that a regional coordination meeting was held earlier that same day, in which the meteorology department director warned of the need to prepare for extreme weather events.
