The Israeli military has raised its alert level in preparation for the possibility of escalation on multiple fronts, despite the absence of any concrete intelligence indicating an intention by Iran or Hezbollah to launch an attack, according to Israel's official KAN channel.

The report noted that the military is closely monitoring Iranian tests of missiles and drones that have been conducted since last week, describing the current phase as "sensitive." An unnamed Israeli security official told KAN: "We are working to ensure that events do not catch us by surprise."

The security cabinet will convene a meeting on Thursday chaired by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and attended by Defense Minister Yisrael Katz and Chief of Staff Hertzl Halevi. Sources familiar with the agenda described the meeting as routine and consistent with the existing state of security tension. What was notably absent from the discussion is as striking as what was said: no specific accusations were leveled at Iran or Hezbollah, and no imminent military mobilization or deployment was announced.

According to KAN, there are concerns that recent warning statements by Netanyahu, Katz, and Halevi could prompt the other side to miscalculate the situation, prompting the security establishment to escalate its state of alert.
