Turkish news channel TRT reported that pilgrims from across the world completed the standing at Arafat, the most essential and greatest pillar of Hajj, and subsequently moved to Muzdalifah to continue the remainder of their rites in the holy land.
The standing at Arafat is the fundamental pillar without which the Hajj is invalid. It takes place at Mount Arafat near Mecca, where pilgrims spend the ninth day of Dhu al-Hijjah in supplication, entreaty, and remembrance, in a spiritual scene that brings Muslims from all corners of the earth together on one plain.
After completing the standing, pilgrims proceed to Muzdalifah where they spend the night and collect pebbles, in preparation for moving to Mina to perform the stoning of the Jamarat and complete the remaining rites in the following days, as part of the sequential ritual path prescribed for these blessed days.
TRT did not disclose the number of pilgrims participating in this season.
