10 Illegal Parking Attendants Released on House Arrest in 'Trust Street' Operation Launched by Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office

Within the scope of an investigation launched by Ankara Chief Prosecutor's Office Application and On-Call Bureau into illegal parking attendant activities, the Ankara Police Department Public Order Branch conducted the 'Trust Street Operation,' detaining 10 suspects. The suspects were unlawfully profiting by demanding money from drivers seeking parking spaces in front of various streets, avenues, and businesses throughout the city, and were creating parking areas as if they owned them.

The 10 suspects transferred to court were released on house arrest by the judge who heard their case. In a statement, Ankara Police Department emphasized that demanding parking fees in public spaces falls under the scope of Law No. 2918 on Road Traffic Regulations and is illegal, calling on citizens to report unlicensed parking attendants to police.

Unlicensed parking attendance, particularly in the Kızılay and Ulus areas, is a chronic problem that has been a subject of complaint for years, though operations continue to be followed by resumed activity.
