Arcelik has held the official opening of its Washing Machine Plant in Manisa, brought to life through an investment of approximately 200 million euros. The facility, built on a 92,000-square-metre campus that the company acquired in 2021, is being positioned as one of the central nodes in its global production network. The opening ceremony was announced via a company press release. Manisa Governor Vahdettin Ozkan, Manisa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Besim Dutlulu, Koc Holding Honorary Chairman Rahmi M. Koc, Koc Holding Deputy Board Chairman Ali Y. Koc, Koc Holding CEO Levent Cakiroglu, Koc Holding Consumer Durables Group President Polat Sen, and Arcelik CEO Can Dincer attended the ceremony. Koc Holding Consumer Durables Group President Polat Sen stated that Arcelik has invested approximately 458 million euros in its production infrastructure in Turkey over the past five years. Arcelik CEO Can Dincer noted that when the company produced Turkey's first domestic washing machine in 1959, the production line turned out 15 machines per day, whereas today a washing machine is produced every 6 seconds at the Manisa facility. Dincer explained that 44 percent of output from the plant — which has an annual production capacity of nearly 4 million units — is exported to 106 countries, and that the company operates a production network spanning 10 countries. A 10.2 MWp solar power plant on the campus generates electricity equivalent to approximately 46 percent of the facility's annual electricity needs. Dincer also noted that direct greenhouse gas emissions have been reduced by 95 percent and that the overall automation level has reached 75 percent, compared to the 2023 base year.
