Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi shared details of the operation against the 'Alihan Kuriş Profit-Motivated Criminal Organization' with the public in Diyarbakır, revealing that the organization's leadership communicated through encrypted software called 'Glooper'.
According to Çiftçi, after Alihan Kuriş took the helm of the movement in 2016, large-scale money and asset transfers within the organization accelerated. The minister directly compared the structure's use of covert software — while operating under the guise of a religious community — to FETÖ's ByLock application: "Would a religious community, a movement, use secret software?" he asked.
Explaining the scope of the operation, Çiftçi emphasized that it was conducted simultaneously under the coordination of both the Interior Ministry and the Justice Ministry. He drew a clear distinction between rank-and-file believers in the lower echelons of the organization and its top management, stating that the target was solely the organization's leadership and that no broad-scale operation against the wider public was planned.
The Alihan Kuriş structure had previously come to the attention of security services; initial investigation files were opened in 2024, but no statement of this scale had been made publicly before. The full scope of the operation and the names of those detained have not yet been confirmed.
Sözcü Gazetesi reported on Çiftçi's statements in Diyarbakır.

The use of secret communication tools by structures appearing as religious communities raises security and intelligence concerns. As the operation results and number of detainees have not yet been disclosed, the development of the situation will be a matter to follow.
