While existing TOKİ homes in Sazlıbosna flood, TOKİ has opened 8 additional tenders for 6,938 new homes in the same area. The tenders will take place between October 27 and November 13; in addition to the homes, 94 shops, a health clinic, a primary school, and a mosque will be constructed.

The region is located along the route where the Canal Istanbul project is planned to pass. In Sazlıbosna, where approximately 80 billion lira in contracts had previously been signed across 40 separate tenders, images circulating on social media show existing homes submerged underwater.

Due to structures built in the water collection basin of the Sazlıdere Dam, water previously supplied from the dam to Istanbul has been cut off entirely, and the city lost a critical water source. While Istanbul Governor Davut Gül stated after the flood that structures in the streambed would be demolished, urban planner Akif Burak Atlar documented that construction continues in the same area with aerial footage.

Sazlıbosna is located on the border of Küçükçekmece and Arnavutköy; access to the area takes approximately 45 minutes via Başakşehir. Following the recent flood, the Provincial Administration has not yet issued an assessment regarding the new tenders.
