Azerbaijan's state oil company SOCAR plans to open a representative office in Uzbekistan, continuing its push to strengthen its position in the Central Asian region. The move reflects growing interest from the Azerbaijani energy giant in markets beyond the Caspian Basin and demonstrates consistent expansion of its geographic footprint.

Uzbekistan holds an important place in the regional energy architecture: the country possesses significant hydrocarbon reserves and serves as a key transit corridor for energy resources across the CIS space. Opening an office will allow SOCAR to build closer operational ties with local partners, respond promptly to opportunities for joint investment projects, and participate in developing the republic's energy infrastructure.

For Uzbekistan, which is actively attracting foreign investment into its fuel and energy sector, the arrival of a representative office from one of the leading oil and gas companies of the post-Soviet space could provide an additional impetus for regional cooperation. Details regarding the office opening timeline and scope of operations have not yet been officially clarified.
