South Korea said it is investigating an incident in which two unidentified objects struck a cargo ship operated by a Korean company in the Strait of Hormuz on May 4.
The incident occurred in one of the world's most critical maritime chokepoints, through which roughly one-third of global seaborne oil passes. South Korean authorities have not disclosed details about the nature of the objects or any damage sustained.
The Strait of Hormuz has been a focal point of regional tensions, with multiple shipping incidents reported in recent months.
