Sözcü Editor-in-Chief Ercüment İşleyen Detained; Investigation Scope Undisclosed

Ercüment İşleyen, Editor-in-Chief of Sözcü's website, was detained on the night of October 26, 2024. According to reporting by Ekonomim citing Sözcü, İşleyen first underwent a health check before being taken to the Vatan Street campus of Istanbul Police Headquarters. At this stage, authorized authorities provided no official statement regarding which investigation the detention falls under or what charges İşleyen faces.
