401 billion TL withdrawn from Tera and Pusula funds in 16 days, 440 investors under scrutiny
Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is investigating whether money transfers between September 1-16 are connected to information leaked before precautionary measures were announced.
In the fund investigation conducted by Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it has been alleged that over 401 billion 266 million TL was withdrawn from Tera and Pusula investment funds in just 16 days.
According to financial data reported by Ekonomim, the transactions in question were concentrated between September 1-16. When examining the withdrawals, which largely took place from the Tera fund, it is seen that only 335.9 billion TL was withdrawn from this fund. When movements in the Pusula fund are added to this figure, the total reaches 401 billion 266 million 791 thousand 742 TL.
The prosecutor's office is scrutinizing transactions by 440 investors to investigate whether the withdrawals are connected to insider information obtained before possible precautionary measures were taken. Previously, a recall process had been initiated regarding billions of lira in gains obtained from three separate funds; following this process, high-value transactions in the first half of September came under investigation.
Experts point out that the critical question is whether coordinated withdrawals of this scale occurring within a 16-day window indicate information flow before the precautionary measures were announced. The scope to which the investigation will expand depends on how the prosecutor's office evaluates the transaction patterns of the 440 investors.
