Tour bus overturns in Çanakkale: 46 injured

A tour bus lost control and overturned in a field in the Biga district of Çanakkale today. The bus, traveling from Ankara to Çanakkale, veered off the road at the district entrance and flipped over. Forty-six people injured in the accident were transported to nearby hospitals.

According to information reported by Cumhuriyet Gazette, while it remains unclear whether the injured face life-threatening conditions, health and safety teams quickly reached the scene. As ambulances were dispatched to the area, gendarmerie and fire brigade units conducted extensive evacuation and rescue operations at the crash site.

Biga is a district of Çanakkale that hosts heavy tourist traffic. Due to its proximity to the region where the historic Battle of Çanakkale took place, the district experiences particularly intense bus traffic, especially during the summer months. The exact cause of the accident and the total passenger capacity of the bus are being investigated. Authorities announced that an investigation into the incident has been launched.
