The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed Monday evening that Ukrainian forces will implement a ceasefire in Oleshky starting at 03:00 Kyiv time on Tuesday, October 27. According to AFP, the Russian side stated its readiness to ensure safe passage for a humanitarian convoy, including engineering reconnaissance of the route.

Estimates suggest between 1,700 and 2,000 people remain in the occupied city, a significant portion of them elderly residents facing acute shortages of food and medicine. The Ukrainian side had previously delivered supplies and medications by drone.

The ceasefire was achieved through negotiations between Ukrainian and Russian humanitarian teams coordinated by U.S. First Lady Melania Trump. Dmitry Lubinets, the Ukrainian Parliament's Commissioner for Human Rights, reported that he personally discussed the operation with Russian representative Yana Lantratova: both sides confirmed the same start time for the ceasefire.

According to Lubinets, the agreement includes several phases: cessation of fire, mine clearance of routes, delivery of humanitarian aid, and organization of civilian evacuation.

Neither Kyiv, nor Moscow, nor Washington has publicly named an independent monitoring mechanism or disclosed detailed arrangements for the humanitarian operation. Ukraine's General Staff urged citizens to rely exclusively on official sources and refrain from spreading unverified information about evacuation routes, convoy movements, and operation timings.
