Kyrgyzstan Lifted Import Ban on Construction Materials Early
The cabinet of ministers rescinded restrictions introduced on September 14, 2025 for a six-month period — the decree was signed by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliiev.

Kyrgyzstan's cabinet of ministers has lifted an interim ban on the import of certain types of construction materials from third countries. The decree was signed by Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliiev; the document enters into force upon official publication.
The ban was introduced by decree No. 614 dated September 14, 2025 for a period of six months. It covered certain types of construction blocks and bricks, tiles, sheet glass, electrical cables, and self-supporting insulated wires. The new decree repeals both the original document No. 614 and decree No. 691 from October 12, 2025.
When introducing the ban, the cabinet of ministers justified the decision as necessary to support domestic producers, stabilize the internal market, and ensure the country's economic security. The restrictions did not apply to goods from EAEU member states, transit cargo, and a number of materials for strategic and investment projects.
On October 12, the list of exceptions was expanded: imports of materials for certain national investment and state projects were permitted, as well as goods shipped to Kyrgyzstan before the ban took effect and that were in transit. Such goods were allowed to be imported within two months if supporting documentation was provided.
