Kyrgyzstan and ADB advance PPP wind power project for 75–100 MW

Kyrgyzstan's Public-Private Partnership Center and the Asian Development Bank are continuing preparations for a wind power plant project with a capacity of 75–100 MW. The parties discussed progress at the Manila Dialogue on Energy Interconnection and Debt Burden, held in the Philippines with ADB support.

At a separate meeting, representatives of the bank and its PPP Office reviewed the current project status, mechanisms for attracting private capital, risk distribution between the state and investors, and potential further technical support from the ADB.

The project is at the technical preparation stage. In August, the ADB announced a call for specialists to conduct preliminary geotechnical studies and design a wind power plant with a capacity of approximately 100 MW. A consultation support agreement between Kyrgyzstan and the ADB was concluded in October 2024.
