Member countries of the Forum of Gas Exporting Countries (FSEEG) adopted a declaration at their eighth summit in Moscow in which they expressed deep concern over the impact of geopolitical events on the stability of the global gas market.

In the document, published on the Kremlin website, participating countries stated their "deep concern about the negative impact of geopolitical events, particularly in the Middle East, on the stability, security and resilience of the global gas market, including disruptions in gas supplies, increased uncertainty regarding demand and supply security, rising investment risks and significant volatility in gas prices."

The summit took place on October 27, 2026 — marking the 25th anniversary year of FSEEG, which was founded in 2001. The Forum convened for the eighth time.

FSEEG brings together Russia, Iran, Algeria, Bolivia, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Libya, Nigeria, Qatar, Trinidad and Tobago, the UAE and Venezuela. Angola, Azerbaijan, Iraq, Malaysia, Mauritania, Mozambique, Peru and Senegal hold observer status. The forum's member countries account for approximately 70% of global proven gas reserves, 38% of global production, 42% of global gas exports and 47% of global LNG supplies.
