Japan will provide Kyrgyzstan with a grant of 533 million yen, equivalent to approximately $3.5 million, for the acquisition of modern road construction equipment. A bill on the ratification of corresponding international agreements has been submitted to the Jogorku Kenesh for consideration.

The funds are intended to be directed toward the purchase of road milling machines, soil stabilizers, and rollers. The equipment is designed for the repair and reconstruction of motor roads, including international transport corridors passing through Kyrgyzstan.

The country's road sector is experiencing a serious shortage of equipment: approximately 35% of machinery has broken down, and demand exceeds 2,000 units. Special attention is expected to be given to mountainous regions, where repair efforts are complicated by landslides and difficult terrain.

According to the bill's developers' assessment, the use of modern milling machines will significantly reduce repair timeframes. Currently, the shortage of equipment forces repeated asphalt laying over damaged sections — in some places, road surface thickness has already reached 15 centimeters.
