Saudi Arabia Develops 14 Gigawatts of Computing Power to Attract AI Companies
Saudi Communications Minister Abdullah Al-Suwaaha unveils in Silicon Valley an integrated model combining computing capacity, capital, and customer access.

Saudi Arabia's Minister of Communications and Information Technology Abdullah Al-Suwaaha revealed that the Kingdom is working with the private sector to develop more than 14 gigawatts of computing power, as part of a model designed to attract artificial intelligence companies and accelerate their growth.
The announcement came during Al-Suwaaha's address to the fourth edition of the Frontier Leaders Forum 2026, held in Silicon Valley, California under the theme "AI Forward: A Global Frontier," which brought together leaders from the artificial intelligence, investment, and venture capital sectors.
The minister explained that the Saudi model is built on providing companies with three components: computing power, capital, and customer access. He cited Groq as a practical example, noting that the Kingdom was among the company's earliest backers — providing a large customer base, investing in it, and creating an environment that enabled its expansion.
Al-Suwaaha said the goal is to replicate this experience with a new generation of global companies. He did not specify a timeline for completing the targeted computing capacity.
