The European Union has allocated €9.5 million for a new humanitarian action in Yemen covering 2026, as recent conflict escalations displaced more than 200,000 people within a matter of weeks.

The Yemen Displacement Response Consortium — led by the Danish Refugee Council and including Acted, the Norwegian Refugee Council, and the International Organization for Migration — will use the funds to support over 321,000 people across 11 governorates. Assistance covers shelter, water and sanitation, protection, site management, disaster preparedness and emergency response.

Daniela D'Urso, the EU Humanitarian Aid Head of Yemen Office, said the EU remained committed to delivering shelter, clean water, sanitation and protection to vulnerable populations. She also commended partners for fieldwork carried out despite the high risks of operating in an active conflict zone.

More than 5 million people are currently displaced across Yemen, with millions more reliant on humanitarian assistance. The EU has contributed close to €1.6 billion to Yemen crisis response since 2015.
