EU and UK impose sanctions for deportation of Ukrainian children

The European Union and the United Kingdom have introduced sanctions against Russian citizens accused of deporting Ukrainian children, according to Al Jazeera. The new restrictions target officials responsible for the forced displacement of minors from occupied territories. Western countries have previously documented cases where Ukrainian children were taken to Russia without parental consent. Both states have characterized such actions as violations of international humanitarian law. These are not the first sanctions Russia has faced on this issue.
