State corporation Rosatom intends to accelerate construction of the Paks-2 nuclear power plant in Hungary, announced CEO Alexey Likhachev according to TASS. The corporation plans to continue developing its projects not only in Hungary, but also in Slovakia and Bulgaria.

The Paks-2 project remains an important part of Central and Eastern Europe's energy strategy despite sanctions pressure. Hungary has previously reaffirmed its commitment to cooperation with Russia in nuclear energy.

Accelerating construction may include attracting additional resources and optimizing supply chains. The project plays a key role in the region's energy security and diversifying electricity sources across Central and Eastern European countries.
