Around 9,200 vessels transit the Bosphorus in Q1 2024

A total of 9,195 vessels transited the Bosphorus during the first quarter of this year, according to a report by Anadolu Agency.

The Bosphorus is considered one of the world's most important maritime corridors, connecting the Black Sea to the Mediterranean Sea and handling intensive shipping traffic throughout the year.

Shipping traffic through the strait includes commercial vessels, oil tankers, and container ships from numerous countries. The figure underscores the geopolitical and economic significance of the waterway controlled by Türkiye, which plays a vital role in global trade and maritime transportation.
