Turkey's Health Ministry announced it has received three people infected with hantavirus from an arriving vessel, who will be placed under mandatory quarantine, according to Turkish newspaper Cumhuriyet.

The measure comes as part of preventive protocols implemented by Turkish health authorities to limit the spread of the virus. The Ministry did not specify the source of the infections or provide detailed information on the patients' condition.

Hantavirus is considered a serious pathogen transmitted from rodents to humans, and the cases have raised regional concern. Turkish authorities stressed that all necessary precautions are being taken to prevent a potential domestic outbreak.
