According to Cumhuriyet newspaper, the AKP government will submit a new bill to parliament aimed at preventing tax losses in fuel, LPG, and similar markets. The proposal includes measures to increase tax compliance in the sector and crack down on illegal sales.

The move is being viewed as part of a broader set of measures against rising informal activity in the energy market. The government had previously stated that tax losses in the LPG and fuel sectors in particular carry significant implications for the state budget, and signalled its intention to strengthen oversight mechanisms accordingly.

The legislative process will begin once the proposal is submitted to the Grand National Assembly (TBMM). The bill, jointly prepared by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Treasury and Finance, is expected to represent a significant reform in energy-sector tax accountability.
